References - Web design & Search Engine Optimization
This is the online portfolio of creative professional Sverre Sjøthun. I'm currently living in Vancouver, Canada. I just got a job as a Search Engine Optimization Specialist at Riptown.com, a company serving the Online Poker and Casino company Bodog.com, a leader in the Online Gambling industry.
All websites are coded by hand and use table-less design (XHTML & CSS) unless the customer has different requirements. All projects are validated to W3C web standards unless otherwise specified by the customer. This has proven to be, by far, the most cost effective method, and thus saving you as a customer a lot of money.
In addition, hand coded means faster web sites as you don't get loads of unnecessary code generated from WYSIWYG editors such as FrontPage and DreamWeaver. The use of CSS for layout instead of tables further improves speed and load times on your site as the CSS file is loaded once and is then cached by your internet browser.
Hand coded websites and table-less design also has another major advantage over the traditional table and frame designs -- better rankings in search engines. The less code on your site, the better content-to-code ratio, and thus you automatically get better rankings. Using table-less design makes your website ready for Search Engine Optimization!
